How It Started

From a two-desk office in Lahore to clients across 15+ countries — the origin story behind how CodeFlamme still builds software today.

CHAPTER 01

Two desks and one conviction

In 2016, Umair Abbas — a software engineer who had spent years watching agencies build technically impressive products that businesses could not actually use — started building software independently from a two-desk office in Lahore. His first client was a local property agency that needed a CRM but could not afford enterprise software. He built it in eight weeks. They still use it today. That early conviction — that great software starts with understanding the business problem, not the technology — became the foundation for everything that followed.

CHAPTER 02

From Lahore to Dubai

The first international project came two years later — a real estate platform for a Dubai-based developer. That project taught us that great software development does not require physical proximity. It requires communication, trust, and a shared understanding of what success looks like. Every process we have built since then serves those three things.

CHAPTER 03

One name, one team

Eight years and dozens of projects later, in 2024, CodeFlamme was formally founded — bringing that same conviction under one name, with Ali Awais joining as CTO and Asim Abbas as Director. What started as one engineer's standard for good software became a team built to deliver it at scale.

    MILESTONE 01

    Umair begins building software independently from a two-desk office in Lahore. First project: a property CRM delivered in 8 weeks — still running today.

    Independent product engineering for local businesses. The conviction that great software starts with the business problem — not the technology.

    10 projects

    MILESTONE 02

    First 10 projects. First mobile app.

    Expanded from web to native mobile. First React Native app for a local e-commerce client.

    Dubai, UAE

    MILESTONE 03

    First international client — Dubai, UAE

    Real estate listing platform for a Dubai developer. Proved remote delivery could match on-site quality.

  4. 2019

    UK · USA

    MILESTONE 04

    Expanded to UK and USA markets

    Two clients in London and one in New York. First SaaS platform delivered — subscription billing, multi-tenant.

  5. 2020

    23% churn cut

    MILESTONE 05

    AI & Machine Learning practice launched

    First ML product: churn prediction model for a SaaS client. Reduced churn by 23% in 90 days.

  6. 2022

    50 projects

    MILESTONE 06

    50 projects. 10 countries. Team of 20.

    Established four core practice areas. Moved to a dedicated office in Lahore's tech district.

  7. 2024

    Formal founding

    MILESTONE 07

    CodeFlamme formally founded. Ali Awais joins as CTO, Asim Abbas as Director — the leadership team as it stands today.

    Registered 13 May 2024. The company name, structure, and delivery model formalise years of independent shipping into one agency.
